John Brindley 1580-1650




Kingsley Church		 (Sir) Richard Brindley Born before 1557 and married about 1576 to Alice. Known children were: Elizabeth, born 1577 at Kingsley; Johannes, born 1580 at Kingsley; and Gulielmus born 1582 at Kingsley. It is said he 'paid fine for a knighthood'. Richard was buried November, 1635 at St. Werburgh's Church, Kingsley and Alice 8th December, 1631 at Kingsley also. The inventory of Richard's will amounted to £333. 6s 8d.

John Brindley Born about 1520/25 he married Alice and known children were: Richard; John; and Dorothy. He died about 1569.

James Brindley Born before 1500, he married Cycylie Morris (daughter of Morris of Elkstone) and lived and owned Eavesford (Farm) in the Parish of Kingsley, Staffordshire. In 1532 they were resident at the farm Eavesford in the Parish of Kingsley, Staffordshire and their children were: Isabel; John; Agnes; Joan; Roger; Ellen; and Christian. James died in 1536 and Cycylie in 1541.


Wildgoose Farm		 Christopher Brindley Probably born 1470s, he married Elizabeth Palmer (daughter and heir of ? Palmer of Wildgoose). Known children were: Stephen who lived at Wildgoose House, Bradnop; James who bought Eavesford (farm), Kingsley; John of Elkstone; and Robert of Westbrook-Hay, Bradnop.

John Brindley of Wistaston, Cheshire married Margery. Children were: Thomas Brindley of Wistaston who married Margaret Holford; Christopher Brindley of Bradnop who married Elizabeth Palmer; Margery; and Joane. Continue to the early Brindley's family sheet.
