William Colley




Helmsley Church

John Colley Born at Harum and was baptised 6th July, 1783 at All Saints Church, Helmsley, Yorkshire. He married Sarah Belwood on 9th August, 1808 at All Saints Church, Helmsley and they lived at Ings Farm at Harum in the Parish of Helmsley having: William born 1809 at Sproxton, Parish of Helmsley; Jane born 1812 Harum; Mary born 1814 Harum; John born 1816 Harum; Thomas born 1819 Harum; Hannah born 1822 Harum; Robert born 1824 Harum; and Sarah born 1827 Harum. On the 1851 cencus John and Thomas were employed on John's farm (Ings) and William was farming the next door farm, Aby Green. John died 1853 aged 70 and was buried at Helmsley Church.

Thomas Colley Married Hannah Jackson 12th June, 1776 at Kirbymoorside, Yorkshire. Thomas was a Weaver and they had: Ann born 1777 at Harome Parish of Helmsley, Yorkshire; Mary born 1779 at Harome; John born 1783 at Harome; Jane born 1785 at Harome; Elizabeth born 1787 at Harome; and William born 1789 at Harome.

Hannah Jackson Born about 1750, Hannah married Thomas Colley 12th June, 1776 at Kirbymoorside, Yorkshire. They had: Ann born 1777 at Harome Parish of Helmsley, Yorkshire; Mary born 1779 at Harome; John born 1783 at Harome; Jane born 1785 at Harome; Elizabeth born 1787 at Harome; and William born 1789 at Harome. Hannah died 1829 (aged 78 years) and was buried at All Saints Church, Helmsley, Yorkshire.


Ings Farm, Harum

Sarah Belwood Born at Green Sykes, Sproxton in the Parish of Helmsley, Yorkshire and baptised 1st January 1788 at All Saints Church, Helmsley. She married John Colley 9th August, 1808 at Helmsley Church and they had: William born 1809 at Sproxton, Parish of Helmsley; and Jane born 1812 Harum; Mary born 1814 Harum; John born 1816 Harum; Thomas born 1819 Harum; Hannah born 1822 Harum; Robert born 1824 Harum; and Sarah born 1827 Harum.

Robert Belwood Born at Sproxton in the Parish of Helmsley, Yorkshire and baptised at All Saints Church, Helmsley 11th October, 1748. He married Mary Chapman 6th May, 1778 at All Saint's Church, Hawnby, Yorkshire and they had: Henry born 1779 at Sproxton; Robert born 1780 at Sproxton; Ann born 1782 at Sproxton; Ann born 1783 at Sproxton; Mary born 1786 at Sproxton; Sarah born 1788 at Green Sykes; William born 1790 at Green Sykes; Henry born 1792 at Thistle House; John born 1794 at Thistle House; Robert born 1797 at Green Sykes House; Hannah born 1799 at Green Sykes House; and Betty born 1802 at Sproxton Low Woods. Robert died 1804 and was buried at All Saints Church, Helmsley 11th September, 1804.

St. Gregory's Minster, Kirkdale		 Robert Belwood Married Ann Bower 3rd February, 1740 at St. Gregory's Minster, Kirkdale, Yorkshire and they had: Mary born 1742 at Sproxton; Luke born 1743 at Sproxton; Ann born 1745 at Sproxton; Elizabeth born 1747 at Sproxton; Robert born 1748 at Sproxton; Elizabeth born 1750 at Sproxton; William born 1753 at Sproxton; Rachel born 1755 at Sproxton; Henry born 1759 at Sproxton; and Christopher born 1761 at Sproxton. Robert died 1782 and was buried 1st December, 1782 at All Saints Church, Helmsley.

Ann Bower Married Robert Belwood 3rd February, 1740 at St. Gregory's Minster, Kirkdale, Yorkshire and they had: Mary born 1742 at Sproxton; Luke born 1743 at Sproxton; Ann born 1745 at Sproxton; Elizabeth born 1747 at Sproxton; Robert born 1748 at Sproxton; Elizabeth born 1750 at Sproxton; William born 1753 at Sproxton; Rachel born 1755 at Sproxton; Henry born 1759 at Sproxton; and Christopher born 1761 at Sproxton. Ann died in 1761 and was buried at All Saints Church, Helmsley on 17th October, 1761 (the same day her youngest child was baptised).


Hawnby Church

Mary Chapman Born at Hawnby, Yorkshire and baptised 29th April, 1759. She married Robert Belwood on 6th May, 1778 at All Saint's Church, Hawnby, Yorkshire and they had: Henry born 1779 at Sproxton; Robert born 1780 at Sproxton; Ann born 1782 at Sproxton; Ann born 1783 at Sproxton; Mary born 1786 at Sproxton; Sarah born 1788 at Green Sykes; William born 1790 at Green Sykes; Henry born 1792 at Thistle House; John born 1794 at Thistle House; Robert born 1797 at Green Sykes House; Hannah born 1799 at Green Sykes House; and Betty born 1802 at Sproxton Low Woods. Mary died in 1819 aged 62 years and was buried 26th September, 1819 at All Saints Church, Helmsley, Yorkshire.

Henry Chapman Married Ann Boyes 21st February, 1754 at St. Peter and Paul's Church, Stokesley and they had: John born 1755 at Hawnby; Henry born 1756 at Hawnby; Mary born 1759 at Hawnby; George born 1761 at Hawnby; Martha born 1764 at Hawnby; Henry born 1764 at Hawnby; and Sarah born 1770 at Hawnby.
