Ellen Moody




Hallgarth Church
John Moody Born Hallgarth about 1800, he became a blacksmith and married Isabella Young 19th March, 1820 at St. Cuthbert's Church, Carham, Northumberland. The only children I could trace were: Andrew born 1820 at Presson, Northumberland; John born 1823 at Sherburne, Co. Durham; Mary born 1829 at Sherburne; Isabella born 1838 at Easington Lane, Co. Durham; and Ellen born 1840 at Haswell, Co. Durham. John moved around the colliery areas in search of work, died in 1852 (aged 56 years) and was buried 31st October, 1852 at St. Helen's Church, Kelloe, Co. Durham. John's parents were probably Christopher Moody (husbandman) and his wife Eleanor Maughan of Sherburn, Co. Durham.


Ford Westfield Farm

Isabella Young Born 13th May, 1797 Ford Westfield, Ford Castle Northumberland. Her birth was entered in the non-conformist records in Ford Church Register. She married John Moody 19th March, 1820 at St. Cuthbert's Church, Carham, Northumberland and the only children I could trace were: Andrew born 1820 at Presson, Northumberland; John born 1823 at Sherburne, Co. Durham; Mary born 1829 at Sherburne; Isabella born 1838 at Easington Lane, Co. Durham; and Ellen born 1840 at Haswell, Co. Durham. Isabella was entered in the 1861 census as a widow and a school mistress.

Andrew Young Born about 1765 and a native of the chapelry of Cornhill, Northumberland. He married Ann Lilly 15th June, 1794 at St. Gregory the Great Church, Kirknewton, Northumberland and they had: Andrew, born 1795 Ford Westfield; Isabella, born 1797 Ford Westfield; Margaret, born 1799 Ford Westfield; Thomas, born 1801 Ford Westfield; and Agnes born 1804 Ford Westfield. At some point the family moved to Moneylaws, Northumberland, and Andrew died in 1820 at Moneylaws, but was buried at St. Michael's and All Angels Church, Ford, Northumberland 15th June, 1820.


Buckton

Ann Lilly Born about 1766 and a native of Buckton in the parish of Kyloe, Northumberland. She married Andrew Young 15th June, 1794 in St. Gregory the Great Church, Kirknewton, Northumberland and they had: Andrew, born 1795 Ford Westfield; Isabella, born 1797 Ford Westfield; Margaret, born 1799 Ford Westfield; Thomas, born 1801 Ford Westfield; and Agnes born 1804 Ford Westfield. Ann died in 1850, aged 83 at Wooler, Northumberland, but was buried at St. Michael's and All Angels Church, Ford, Northumberland 27th May, 1850.

Ford Church
Thomas Lilly Born about 1720, he became a blacksmith. He married Isabella (born about 1739/40) and the only child I can trace is Ann, born Buckton in the parish of Kyloe, although she was not baptised at Kyloe. Thomas and his wife were probably non-conformist and probably from Scotland. Thomas died at New Etall 15th February, 1805 aged 85 and was buried at St. Michael's and All Angels Church, Ford, Northumberland. Isabella died 1818 aged 78 at Paston, parish of Kirknewton, Northumberland but was buried 15th March, 1818 at St. Michael's and All Angels Church, Ford, Northumberland.
