George Smith Born 14th February, 1817 in Sunderland, Co. Durham, be became a shipwright. He married Jane Shrouder on 24th January, 1842 at St. Michael's Church, Sunderland. All their children were born in Sunderland Centre: George Henry born 1843; Jane Ann born 1845; Thomas born 1847; William born 1852; John born 1854; Mary Ann born 1857; Robert born 1861; Charlotte Burnet born 1863; and Margaret born 1866.

William Smith Records refer to William as a farmer. He married Charlotte Burnette on 9th February, 1812 at St. Peter's Church, Monkwearmouth, Sunderland and known children are: Thomas born 1813 at Hendon; Burnett born 1815 at Hendon; and George born 1817 at Hendon.


Sunderland Parish Church

Charlotte Burnette Baptised 28th December, 1794 at Holy Trinity Church, Sunderland. She married William Smith 9th February, 1812 at St. Peter's Church, Monkwearmouth, Sunderland and the only children I could find were Thomas born 1813 at Hendon, Burnett born 1815 at Hendon and George born 1817 at Hendon.

Thomas Burnett Married Mary and known children were: Charlotte baptised 1794 at Sunderland; George baptised 1794 at Sunderland; and James baptised 1802 at Sunderland.


Bishopwearmouth Church

Jane Shrouder Baptised 6th August, 1820 at St. Michael's Church, Bishopwearmouth, Sunderland, Co. Durham. She married George Smith at the same church 24th January, 1842 and they had: George Henry born 1843; Jane Ann born 1845; Thomas born 1847; William born 1852; John born 1854; Mary Ann born 1857; Robert born 1861; Charlotte Burnet born 1863; and Margaret born 1866 - all in Sunderland Centre.

Mother - Mary Dunn

Johan Hinrick Schroder (John Henry Shrouder) Born Hamburg, Germany in the 1770s he became a seaman. He married Mary Dunn 12th May, 1813 at St. Peter's Church, Monkwearmouth, Sunderland, Co. Durham using his German name, but for the baptism of his first child the family were then known as Shrouder. Their children were: Mary Ann born 1815; Henry born 1817; Jane born 1820; George born 1823; and Isabella born 1826, all at Bishopwearmouth, Sunderland. The 1861 census said he was a British subject. He died 1862 aged 88 years and was buried at Bishopwearmouth Cemetery, Sunderland.


Rector's Almshouses

Mary Dunn Baptised 13th May, 1785 at Holy Trinity Church, Sunderland, Co. Durham, she married Johan Hinrick Schroder 12th May, 1813 at St. Peter's Church, Monkwearmouth, Sunderland. By 1815 they were known by the name Shrouder. They had: Mary Ann born 1815; Henry born 1817; Jane born 1820; George born 1823; and Isabella born 1826, all at Bishopwearmouth, Sunderland. Mary died at the Rector's Almshouses in 1866 aged 82 years and was buried 10th December, 1866 at Bishopwearmouth Cemetery, Sunderland.

George Dunn Married Ann Pearson 9th January, 1783 at Holy Trinity Church, Sunderland, Co. Durham and they had: Thomas born 1783 at Sunderland; Mary born 1785 at Sunderland; William born 1787 at Sunderland; Elizabeth born 1789 at Monkwearmouth, Sunderland; Phillis born 1791 at Monkwearmouth; and Pearson born 1794 at Monkwearmouth.


Monkwearmouth Church

Ann Pearson Baptised 28th May, 1761 at St. Michael's Church, Bishopwearmouth, Sunderland, she married George Dunn 9th January, 1783 at Holy Trinity Church, Sunderland, Co. Durham and they had: Thomas born 1783 at Sunderland; Mary born 1785 at Sunderland; William born 1787 at Sunderland; Elizabeth born 1789 at Monkwearmouth, Sunderland; Phillis born 1791 at Monkwearmouth; and Pearson born 1794 at Monkwearmouth. After George died Ann lived with her daughter Mary and her husband.

Thomas Pearson Married Mary and they had: Ann born 1761; Thomas born 1765; Philis born 1767; Mary born 1769; Isabella born 1772; George born 1774; Elizabeth born 1776; and Sarah born 1779 - all at Bishopwearmouth, Sunderland.
