Frank Brindley Born 22nd February, 1923 at Horden, Co. Durham. He lived at Horden and Blackhall as a child and he started work with Horden Colleries as an Apprentice Surveyor after leaving school. He volunteered for the RAF during the Second World War, where he served as a pilot. He met and married June Mildred Stansfield on 9th October, 1948 at Worcester Park, Surrey and they had two children: Pauline Frances born 31st August, 1949 at Edmonton, Canada; and Keith Donald born 26th April, 1954 at Hartlepool, Co. Durham. Frank enjoyed cricket, reading, caravanning and crosswords throughout his life. He took early retirement in 1982 and had an enjoyable retirement until his death on 10th June, 1997 in Durham City.

June Mildred Stansfield Born 4th June, 1928 at Wideopen then lived at Whitley Bay until moving to London in 1946 to join the newly formed Ministry of National Insurance. She married Frank Brindley 9th October, 1948 in Worcester Park, Surrey and had two children (see above). Once the children were older she returned to work as a Court Clerk in the Magistrates' Court, Peterlee, Co. Durham from 1964, until 1985 when she took early retirement to spend time with her husband. She enjoys driving, caravanning, tapestry and reading. She was widowed in 1997 after a long and happy marriage.
